The Haj Committee will not allow pilgrims to perform two Hajs within five years. State Haj Committee Chairman A.K. Abdul Hameed warned pilgrims here on Saturday against attempting to go for Haj once again within five years under the Haj Committee.He said some people had been found to have violated the law.
Mr. Hameed said that the cash deposit of those found repeating the Haj in five years would be confiscated. He was addressing the media after a function at which the State’s Minister for Haj Paloli Mohammed Kutty received the key of the newly constructed Haj House at Karipur. Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan will inaugurate the Haj House on Monday morning.
The Haj House was constructed in 8 months near the Calicut International Airport at Karipur on a piece of land donated by a few people. Apart from this the Central Haj Committee gave Rs.1.5 crore, State government Rs.1 crore and nearly Rs.2 crore was collected by way of donations.
Union Minister of State for External Affairs E. Ahamed will deliver the keynote address. Indian Union Muslim League State president Panakkad Sayed Mohammedali Shihab Thangal will lead the prayers.
