Resenting the moves to reform temple customs in Kerala, Nair Service Society general secretary P K Naryana Panicker said the government should refrain from intervening in traditions followed by the temples under the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB).
The Government did not have any right to meddle with the temple traditions and customs as it would be against the covenant between the erstwhile Travancore royal family and the state based on which the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) had been formed, Panicker told reporters here.
Panicker, however, declined to comment on the findings of the ongoing 'devaprasnam' in the Guruvayur temple and the reactions they sparked from different quarters.
