The C.H. Mohammed Koya Library of the University of Calicut is organizing an international book festival at the Seminar Complex on the campus from October 23 to 27. The festival will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Vice-Chancellor Anwar Jahan Zuberi will inaugurate the event. Over 20 prominent publishers including College Book House, to name a few Macmillan, Athulya Books, Futura Books, Penta Books, Kalyan Publishers, Orient Longman will take part in the five-day festival.
Priority will be given to books pertaining to Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Journalism, Commerce, Folklore, History, Library Science, Music, Women’s Studies, Comparative Literature, Arabic, Hindi, English, Library Sciences, Sanskrit and Malayalam.
Special Program’s :
On October 23 -‘Meet the Author’ programme will be held at the ‘Students Trap’ on the Campus.
On October 24 - The School of Drama and Fine Arts will stage a ‘Shruthisandhya’ at 6.30 p.m.
On October 25 - Folk songs will be presented by the Folklore Centre.
On October 26 - University employees and students will stage cultural programmes.
At 8.00 pm Koyilandy-based drama troupe K.T.S. Kalakendra will present a play.
