The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kerala today said it would not withdraw from the state-wide hartal on November 1 in view of President Pratibha Patil's maiden visit to the state.
The party had called for the strike in protest against the Centre's ''negligience'' of the state and formation of Salem division, carving a portion from Palakkad division.Moreover, the date fixed for the Salem Railway inauguration falls on November 1, which is the State Formation Day.
''This itself is a disgrace to all Malayalees in the world,'' the BJP State President P K Krishnadas said.Stating that Tamil Nadu could garner more development projects, he alleged that the Union Ministers from the state and also the MPs had failed to bring the development projects to the State.
